Scotland's first centre for legal process outsourcing (LPO) is
being opened in Glasgow's IFSD, bringing 21 new jobs to the
city.
NewGalexy Services Ltd
(NGSL) provides legal services to large corporations and legal
firms worldwide from bases in London, Chicago and India. Scotland
is now the base for its European operations.
Robert Glennie, NewGalexy's co-founder and executive chairman
said: "Support from Scottish Development International was a
key component in our decision to build our new onshore LPO business
in Glasgow.
"Increasingly, European legislation will drive businesses to
consider alternatives to offshoring legal work. There is clear
market demand for this development and Scotland has an excellent
pool of legal talent which could make it a leading base for LPO
services."
NewGalexy's early focus will be on managed legal support
services to law firms; legal risk management and supporting
delivery of legal services to business sectors like banking and
finance; engineering and construction and technology, media and
telecommunications.
Sarvarth Misra, NewGalexy's co-founder and executive director
added: "We expect to grow to more than 50 lawyers over the next few
years."
Legal process outsourcing is part of an industry worth up to
$1bn worldwide and growing at around 30% a year.
