Three intrepid explorers
from Brodies LLP in Glasgow are
part of a five strong team from the firm taking on the Arctic in a
70km trek, aiming to raise £15,000 for Maggie's Cancer Centres.
Starting in February 2019 in Finland, the team will spend
three days trekking into the Arctic Circle in sub-zero
temperatures, battling the elements while pulling their own
equipment and sleeping in tents.
The Glasgow based members of the Brodies team are Jenni Guy,
associate, Jackie McFarlane, senior solicitor from the firm's real
estate team and litigation senior solicitor Seonaid Cochrane. All
three are pictured with Maralyn Boyle, Maggie's Partnerships
Manager, Scotland.
As part of their training, the team will be required to build
on their own physical fitness for the challenge, as well as
learning vital skills including how to manage cold weather
injuries. All first time trekkers, they will also need to
familiarise themselves with the equipment that will keep them safe
in temperatures that can fall as low as -30 degrees
Celsius.
