This enterprise project idea will develop a knowledge and
understanding of the bridges of the Clyde waterfront. Working in
teams as researchers, learners will use research skills to source
information and a genre-based approach to writing, to create an
information leaflet for a local Tourist Information Centre
containing factual information on 'Clyde bridges' for
young tourists and visitors to the Clyde area.
Broad Outcomes of learning
• Knowledge and understanding of 'Bridges' topic gained and
enhanced
• Functional writing skills enhanced through focus on language and
structures appropriate to genre
• Employability skills enhanced - application of knowledge in a
real situation by working as researchers for the Tourist Board and
meeting the needs of their audience

information, contributing and working in teams, reporting and
presenting findings to group

through specific job roles within groups
