Location:

Renfrew Riverside & Scotstoun, Renfrew

Description:

Clyde View Park is the first new park to be built in the West of Scotland for many years.

Featuring fountains, paths, cycleways, play areas, picnic areas, artwork, green space and a riverside walkway, it has been designed to encourage natural wildlife, and flora and fauna. Its name was chosen following a competition for local residents.

The park is a major asset, benefiting local residents and the growing number of people living and working at Braehead and Renfrew Riverside.

Renfrew Riverside is a partnership of public and private sector organisations which is focused on the regeneration of the River Clyde from Braehead to Renfrew Town Centre.   The project is transforming a total of 185 acres of brownfield land with around 2000 homes, leisure facilities (including the new Xscape indoor ski facility with restaurants, cinema and speciality retail), offices, infrastructure improvements and a wide range of public facilities including the new public park, riverside walkway and cycleways.

Current status:

The park was formally opened in June 2005.
