Scottish Power Energy Networks require a new 132/33kV substation to provide a secure electricity supply for their new development and organic growth within the west of Glasgow.

Location:

Pacific Quay & SECC, Finnieston

Description:

The new substation will consist of two 90MVA transformers, interconnected by two new 132kV 100MVA rated circuits. The substation will consist of traditional oil filled transformers and switchgear connections with 132kV cable sealing ends. The substation will also include indoor 33kV and 11kV distribution switchgear. Separate transmission and distribution control rooms will be provided, including separate standby LV generation.

A new access road will be constructed to service the substation from the existing access gate at St Vincent Crescent. The existing office block will be separated from the new substation.

The substation building will be clad in natural stone with a sloping zinc roof.
