Glasgow's important transport collection has been rehoused in
the purpose-built Riverside Museum, an award-winning building with
a dramatic waterfront location.
The regeneration of Clyde Waterfront has included major redevelopment of the Greater Govan area.
Greater Govan ad Glasgow Harbour will both continue to play
important roles as modern, dynamic inner city districts,
contributing to the business and cultural life of the Clyde
waterfront.
The £1.2 billion Glasgow Harbour is a world-class
regeneration project which spearheaded the revitalisation of
the North bank of the river in this area.
On the south side the Central Govan Action
Plan and the Govan
Cross Townscape Heritage Initiative have been guiding the
regeneration of Govan town centre, residential developments,
commercial development and a retail and leisure scheme.
The new South Glasgow
Hospital is also providing a massive focus for jobs and
activity in the area, and is due to open in 2015.
