Description:
Scottish Enterprise is assisting BAE Systems Surface Ships to
bring a derelict and neglected part of their Govan/Scotstoun
facility in Glasgow into more productive operational use.
Scottish Enterprise's contribution of £1.995m towards a £10m
investment in the Govan shipyard aims to improve competitiveness
and position to business for the future.
The works include the creation of a new East Quay to an area of
around 1,150m2. The works also include the
creation of a new Transfer Quay area and the development of a
new external hard-standing.
The SE funding is additional to the investment of around £8m the
company requires to make in its facilities to fulfil the Future
Aircraft Carrier (CVF) order.
