Glasgow City Centre urban redevelopment

International Financial Services District

International Financial Services District

The International Financial Services District has become a major focus for relocating and growing organisations. Between 2001 and 2014 over £1 billion investment was secured, with over 90% from the private sector.

Glasgow's vibrant city centre is breathing new life and energy into the wider revitalised Clyde Waterfront.

New urban developments in Glasgow have added an air of dynamism and confidence in the heart of the city.

Glasgow urban redevelopment has seen major changes made to the face of the city. Tradeston currently sits on the edge of the city centre. By connecting the area to the growing Glasgow International Financial Services District in the Broomielaw on the opposite riverbank there are now new opportunities. The Broomielaw-Tradeston Bridge opened in 2009 increasing the opportunity for new restaurants, bars and hotels to create a dynamic new community in the centre of the city.

Further east, the historic Merchant City, the High Street and Glasgow Green represent crucial components in the regeneration of the river. The Merchant City offers opportunities for business and employment, while Glasgow Green provides a unique amenity within walking distance of the city centre.
