Description:

New Campus Glasgow is a visionary project to create an inspirational learning environment for City of Glasgow College - the new college being formed through the merger of Central, Metropolitan and Nautical Colleges.

The new college will be located across two campuses: the City Campus at Cathedral Street and the Riverside Campus at Crown Street.

It will be home to around 1,500 staff and 40,000 students. The new college will create a modern, efficient and sustainable campus which is fundamental to the realisation of the new college's educational vision.

Glasgow Learning Quarter (GLQ) was identified as the preferred bidder in early 2013.  The two new £228m campus developments will be ready in three years time, and have been designed by Reiach and Hall and Michael Laird Architects.

Construction on the new campus developments will start in the Summer of 2013.

Current status:

Planning permission was granted in April 2013. Construction will begin on site in Summer 2013.

2008 - 2016

Cost:

Overall project £300 million.
