Description:
Scour protection works were carried out on the upper stretches of the River Clyde from early March until June 2006 at Albert Bridge, the Tidal Weir, Polmadie (Kay's) Footbridge and Dalmarnock Bridge.
The works are essential to the long-term stability of these structures and were identified during an underwater structural inspection which revealed scouring of the riverbed around their supporting piers. The remedial works involved the placement of rock armour to reinstate the riverbed to its natural level and provide protection to the bridge supports.
