The £100m Lomondgate development in Dumbarton has received another major boost with the news that Taylor Wimpey has completed the purchase of a 12 acre site.
Taylor Wimpey is expected to start construction on the site
early in the New Year and will build a range of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom
homes.
The deal was dependent on planning permission from West
Dunbartonshire Council, which has now given the green light to the
housebuilder's plans to build 110 family homes at the mixed-use
development near Loch Lomond.
The builder joins Persimmon Homes and Walker Group on the site,
which will eventually feature more than 300 homes.
Residents have already moved into the first homes on the Walker
Group phase of the development, which will comprise of 109
properties. Persimmon is proposing to construct a total of
119 units on their phase.
Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey West
Scotland said: "Taylor Wimpey is delighted to have secured
planning permission to begin work on its part in the delivery of
the Lomondgate masterplan that will create a new way of living in
West Dunbartonshire. The scope of our proposed plans will
ensure there's a wide choice of homes to suit a wide range of
buyers, and we're confident they'll share our vision for their new
community. We expect to start works on-site in early 2012,
and plan to have our homes on sale by Spring 2012."
