A £145m development at Central Quay could bring up to 5000 jobs to the city. Property group Goodman is developing a new masterplan for the site, next to the Kingston Bridge.
Glasgow's burgeoning International Financial Services District
is set to buck the global economic downturn with a masterplan which
will bring new money and new jobs to the city.
The Central Quay development could see £145 million of new offices
with the
potential to bring up to 5000 jobs to the city. The blueprint for
prosperity has been put together by Goodman, Britain's leading
riverside business park developer, which manages the 11-acre
site.
So far less than half the site has been developed and already
almost 1000 staff
are based there, including workers for NHS Scotland.
The new masterplan is for the remaining 7 acres of land which
lies minutes from the centre of the city and just a short car ride
from Glasgow Airport.
Goodman brought in leading architects from Keppie Design to come
up with a vision to complete the business park. Flexibility is the
key word and potential clients will be offered new buildings
ranging in size from 30,000 to 250,000 sq ft, with basement car
parking.
Goodman recently acquired the Bilsland Bakery building,
extending the opportunities for development at Central Quay.
