The keys to Building 1, Atlantic Square in the IFSD have been
handed over to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
The 187,205 sq ft, ten-storey prime Grade A building on York
Street was developed by BAM
Properties and TCP Developments, with forward funding by LGIM
Real Assets. It will be HMRC's Glasgow Regional Centre.
Around 2,500 HMRC staff will begin relocating from other offices
in early 2022. The building is one of 13 new HMRC regional centres,
all within UK Government hubs.
The building incorporates the retained Grade A façade of a
former warehouse building and features a BREEAM "Excellent" rating
and an EPC rating of "A".
HMRC adopted digital and data modelling from the outset, to
eliminate construction risk and to plan the maintenance regime for
the building; something of particular importance following
COVID.
Colin Casse, Locations Programme Director,HMRC said: "Atlantic
Square is a stunning building, providing a modern, flexible working
environment which can easily adapt and cater for any future changes
to our working practices and ways of working."
Atlantic Square also features Building 2, providing 96,650 sq ft
of additional office accommodation with floor plates up to 15,400
sq ft. Negotiations are currently underway with potential
occupiers.
