Mutual Direct spread some festive cheer during December with a
500kg target for foodbank donations to the Trussell Trust between
their offices in Glasgow and Cardiff in their, 'Do Good: Feel Good'
campaign.
The IFSD based insurer set themselves the challenge of 500kg after
visiting the foodbanks and discovering that just 10kg of supplies
keeps one person in basic food and toiletries for one
week.
A foodbank collection drive began and they used several social and
community events to help meet their target by collecting at their
annual Kids Christmas parties and at IFSD supported networking
events. Some of the team even bought gifts for the service
users at the foodbanks rather than doing their usual 'Secret
Santa'.
Communications Advisor, Anne Marie Croal said, "We were totally
overwhelmed by the generosity of our teams in Glasgow and
Cardiff, along with visitors who also donated. It was a
fantastic community effort."
