Eleven intrepid adventurers from Castlight Financial took
on the Inflatable 5k Challenge recently to raise money for the Beatson Cancer
Charity. Undaunted by the Temple of Doom, Crash Bang Wallop or
Holy Moly, the team navigated its
way over 15 gigantic obstacles around Strathclyde Park.
Whilst it might sound like a day out at soft play for grown
ups, Office Manager Tanya Campbell says the obstacle course was not
for the faint-hearted: "The inflatables were challenging to climb
and we needed to work together as a team to negotiate some of them.
Some of us were experienced runners and others were first time
eventers but we pooled our strengths and strategies and completed
the course!
"At the end of the 5k, we wore our medals with pride but what
we were really proud about was raising £1,000 for the Beatson
Cancer Charity. Some of our team have family members who have been
affected by cancer and the Beatson is a charity close to their
hearts. But for all us, it was a privilege to take part in a
challenge that was not just fun - but ultimately made a real
difference to people in the community around us."
