Through an understanding of local health related issues,
learners will develop a strategy to promote positive health of
young people in their area by working in teams focusing on various
aspects of health and creating a poster and presentations campaign.
Learners will have opportunities to interact with members of
the local community and to invite local health organisations who
provide facilities, to come into the school.

• Knowledge and understanding of 'health' topic gained and
enhanced
• Knowledge & understanding of health issues faced by their
peers/parents and local community groups enhanced application of
knowledge in a real situation by working as researchers/campaigners
promoting current health issues and meeting the needs of their

structures appropriate to genre and audience - persuasive writing -
poster
• Pupils take responsibility for their learning through cooperative
decision making in teams planning and executing their Health &
